  2000 Mathematics Subject Classification
The Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC) is used to categorize items covered by the two reviewing databases, Mathematical Reviews (MR) and Zentralblatt MATH (Zbl).
The current classification system, 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC2000), is a revision of the 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification, which is the classification that has been used by MR and Zbl since the beginning of 1991.
MSC2000 is the result of a collaborative effort by the editors of MR and Zbl to update the classification.

Distribution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In mathematics, there are several distinct concepts given the name of distribution:
In physics, a distribution function, for example the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution, describes the number of particles per unit volume in phase space.
For the meaning of distribution in the terminology of the Linux operating system, see Linux distribution.

Mostly, if you're doing something like this you'd assume that all parameters are jointly normal, which means they each have a normal distribution but their joint distribution is a generalisation of the normal too; they don't have to be independent but we can say a lot about them even if they're not.
This distribution is characterised solely by its mean and covariance matrix (which is a generalisation of variance) as you might expect.
Yes, there is a standard technique of fitting parameters to particular distributions by estimating them from the sample you have obtained, although not necessarily in the way you may imagine.

 A Conversation with Joe Doob
Mathematics seemed to match my psychology, a mistake reflecting the fact that somehow I did not take into account that mathematics is created by humans.
It was not clear in the early thirties that there could be a mathematical counterpart, at the same level as the rest of mathematics, of the non-mathematical context adorned with the name "probability".
In a 1934 class discussion of bivariate normal distributions Hotelling remarked that zero correlation of two jointly normally distributed random variables implied independence, but it was not known whether the random variables of an uncorrelated pair were necessarily independent.

Michel PETITJEAN homepage / The Mathematical Theory of Chirality
W is a joint distribution of X and Y such that the marginals of X and Y in the space of colors are fully correlated, i.e.
An important consequence is that the chiral index of a parent distribution can be approximated by sampling, because the chiral index of the sample is converging to that of the parent distribution.
When each of the two distributions is represented by a set of N colored points, the N colors being all different, and the two sets of N colors being identical, it means that there is a pairwise correspondence between the two sets of points, and the distance is called the pure rotation Procrustes distance.

Distribution of Indiana Academic Standards in English/Language Arts and Mathematics
The law requires that these standards documents be distributed to parents of students enrolled in your schools.
