A police procedural, it is set in New York City's fictional Mutant Town, a de facto ghetto for mutants.

District X is more of a gritty urban crime drama than superhero title—a comic book equivalent of NYPD Blue, where the suspects have mutant powers and the steady decay of urban America goes hand in hand with the familiar prejudices towards mutant kind.
The inhabitants of District X are the poor, desperate and defeated masses, but they are also mutants, rejected and shit on by a world that both fears and hates them.
District X is a must read for comic fans looking for more than just mindless superhero slug fests, proving in the end, that there’s more to the X-universe than simply blowing up Sentinels.

District X is based around one of those concepts, a sort of ethnic mutant neighborhood in New York City, like Chinatown or Koreatown but focused on differences of genetics rather than differences of culture.
District X is off to a slow burn start, but it has every indication that it's going to turn into a great book.
District X is quantifiably different from the rest of the X-book spinoffs glutting the shelves, and it's worth a look even if (or maybe especially if) you're not a fan of the X-Men in the first place.

District X has been granted a third storyline, meaning that it's safe through to issue #18.
District X isn't so much a Bishop solo title as an ensemble cast with Bishop as its selling point (if a book which has shed almost half its readers in six months can be said to have a selling point).
If District X is still with us at the close of 2005, it will be a pleasant surprise.

Since District X faces the unfortunate issues that any overpopulated, lower income level area has, the addition of powers beyond those of ordinary men severely diminishes the control that any law enforcement agency can exercise.
District X was a great surprise in my stack of comics this week.

Ultimately he is going to see District X as his patch and will come to feel as protective towards it as Dardevil is towards Hell's Kitchen.
In the context of District X I don't see it as a conflict between two groups as much as a struggle for individuals and outsiders who are all unique and exceptional, to be accepted for what they are.
District sound really boring and the writer not wanting to be kept up on continuity is irritating to me so I'm not even gonna give this book a try.

I am not sure what the Daily Herald's Eric Krol meant when he said I have the “political X factor,” but he described it as “that visceral fire in the belly that so often eludes candidates” which he says he observed at last month’s NFIB candidates’ forum in Woodstock.
To sit on the sidelines and allow Melissa Bean to get a second term under her belt, would not only be a disservice to my children and family but to all the citizens of this district who deserve representation from someone who shares their values.
