  DIVER BADGES
a.  Special Operations Diver Badge:  A silver badge 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a diver’s head in full gear in front of two crossed Sykes-Fairbain Commando daggers points up.  Around either side of the diver’s head is diving shark with tail fin behind the dagger point.
c.  Salvage:  The diver’s helmet is the basic equipment and the letter “S” is superimposed on the design to reflect salvage activities such as harbor clearance, rock and concrete blasting, steel and timber removal and the removal of propellers for replacement.
V.  SUBDUED BADGES:  Subdued badges are authorized in metal and cloth.  The  metal badge for all designs is fl.  The cloth badge is of olive green base cloth with outlines of the design embroidered in fl with background olive drab.

The Special Operations Diving Badge and Special Operations Diving Supervisor’s Badge may be awarded retroactively to affiliates of any service who successfully complete the SWCS Combat Diver’s Qualification and the Diving Combat Diving course on or following October 1, 1964.
