	Division III Introduction
		Division III athletics feature athletes who receive no financial aid related to their athletic skills and athletic departments that are staffed and funded like any other department in the university.
		Division III athletics is committed to providing equitable athletics opportunities for both genders and gives equal emphasis to men's and women's sports.
		Division III athletics encourages participation by maximizing the number and variety of athletics opportunities available to student-athletes, placing primary emphasis on regional in-season and conference competition.

	Welcome to AVCA - the American Volleyball Coaches Association
		In his ninth season as Washington head coach, Luenemann led the Bears to the NCAA Division III national championship for the second time, and the school’s Division III-record ninth crown overall.
		This is the second time Luenemann has won the AVCA Division III National Coach of the Year award, winning also in 2003.
		The AVCA will formally present the National Coach of the Year award to Luenemann at the 2007 Jostens Coaches Honors Luncheon in Sacramento, Calif. The luncheon is held in conjunction with the 2007 AVCA Annual Convention.

	Haverford College Athletics: The State of NCAA Division III
		NCAA Division III had been around scarcely a decade when in 1984 the American Council on Education tried to bring college presidents into the decision-making loop, superseding crusty old athletic directors who hung around way longer than presidents and voted their own preferences at annual conventions.
		--EXPANSION OF DIVISION III: new, merged and restructured institutions emerged and an association parallel to NCAA, the NAIA, lost membership to NCAA-III, which grew…and grew….becoming by far the largest division, soaring over the 400-member mark with 500 not out of reach.
		Coaches and students here are firmly opposed to break-up of Division III and don't want athletic horizons limited by ever-more regulation.
