The first was the determination of Newfoundland to retain control of Labrador coastal waters, as an abundant harvest for the annual voyages of fishermen from the Island.
Central Labrador - the district of Naskaupi - may be taken as comprising the shores of Hamilton Inlet and its drainage basin, historically the hunting and trapping territory of the Innu and the metis "settlers".
Following Newfoundland's confederation with Canada in 1949, Labrador had its own representation in the House of Assembly although the successful candidates until the 1960s were primarily residents from the Island part of the new province, a matter that many Labradorians still feel strongly about.

Newfoundland, one of the four Atlantic provinces of Canada, consisting of the island of Newfoundland and, on the mainland, a coastal portion of the Labrador region.
The Labrador portion (296,860 sq km/114,618 sq mi) is separated from the island by the Strait of Belle Isle; it is bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean and on the south and west by Québec Province.
Newfoundland, with a total area of 405,720 sq km (156,649 sq mi), is the seventh largest province in Canada; less than 1% of the land is owned by the federal government.

Thus was born the pink, white and green tricolour of Newfoundland, a flag which quickly gained prominent social and commercial and governmental use throughout the island.
Submitted to the Newfoundland House of Assembly was a proposal for a provincial flag in the form of a white ensign with the Union Flag in the canton, and the shield from the arms of Newfoundland on the fly.
Widely flown throughout The Labrador is a flag devised in 1974 as a project for the silver anniversary of Confederation.

This is a summary of the law in Newfoundland relating to the obligations on business owners and operators to clear their premises of ice and snow and also their obligations to customers who slip and fall.
Newfoundland courts have stated that an invitee, using reasonable care on his or her part for his or her own safety, is entitled to expect that the occupier will on its part use reasonable care to prevent damage from unusual danger of which it knows or ought to know.

 Archaeological Assessment of a Lodge, Eagle River, Labrador - Reynolds
On Friday the 25th of October 1996, Ken Reynolds of the Culture and Heritage Division, accompanied a field assistant and a representative of the Goose Bay Provincial Wildlife Division to the site of construction of an outfitters camp on the second steady of the Eagle River.
From the Wildlife Division representative I gathered that while the river directly in front of the lodge can be fished, the operators plan to employ a helicopter service which would enable them to offer a wider number of fishing spots to their customers.
No clearly defined large animal trails leading to the river were noted in the general area.

Vertical net tows were taken at 28 stations (8 on or near the Scotian Shelf, 1 in the Gulf and 19 from the Labrador Shelf/Labrador Sea) using a 3/4 m 200 _m mesh ring net.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Interchangeable Drug Products Formulary is a list of commonly used drugs which have chemical and therapeutic equivalence and are listed alphabetically by generic name.
This Formulary was established by regulations on the advice of the Advisory Committee to the Minister of Health and Community Services, Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Act provides for the establishment of a Professional Committee which is appointed by the Minister of Health and Community Services in consultation with the Newfoundland Medical Association and the Newfoundland Pharmaceutical Association.
