The Division of Health, Design and Science has a vibrant mix of courses in allied health and nursing, sports studies, environmental sciences, and design and architecture.
The Division is the main provider of allied health professionals to the ACT and region, educating the much-needed workforce for the coming crisis in health being generated by the aging population.
The Division has a strong research culture with substantial input into natural resources, for example through the CRC in Freshwater Ecology, and in the built environment through its design school and the Centre for Developing Cities.

Ros Kelly AO (born 25 January 1948) was a member of the Australian House of Representatives for the Division of Canberra from October 18, 1980 to January 30, 1995.
She suffered considerable embarrassment as a result of the so-called "sports rorts" affair, when she revealed that funding for sporting bodies was arranged on the basis of a group discussion around a whiteboard in her office.
She cut short her parliamentary term and the resulting by-election in the seat of Canberra resulted in the loss of the seat to the opposition Liberal Party.

 Anzac Mounted Division
The Australian and New Zealand Mounted Division was formed in Egypt in March 1916 from the four Australian and New Zealand mounted brigades assigned to ANZAC.
Even before the division had finished forming, the 1st Light Horse Brigade was sent to the Western Desert to fight the Senussi while the rest of the division moved to the Suez Canal, relieving the 1st Division, which moved to the Western Front.
The division followed up its victory, pursuing the Turks to the Palestine frontier, capturing major Turkish positions at Magdhaba in December 1916 and Rafah in January 1917.

 Australian Mounted Division
The Australian Mounted Division was formed in Egypt as the Imperial Mounted Division in February 1917 from the 3rd Light Horse Brigade of the Anzac Mounted Division, the 4th Light Horse Brigade, reconstituted after having been broken up the year before, and two British mounted brigades.
As a result, the division was renamed the Australian Mounted Division on 20 June 1917 and became an Australian unit.
The Imperial Mounted Division first saw action in the First Battle of Gaza in March 1917 and it was heavily engaged in the Second Battle of Gaza in April 1917.

According to weekend reports from ABC, several hackers from Europe gained unauthorized access into a state computer system, taking control of at least one server to store music and movie files for other internet users to download.
The Australian TV station quotes John Schrader, a senior detective sergeant with the recently-formed electronic crime division in Canberra, as saying no permanent damage was caused by the hackers.
He said, however, that the uploading and downloading of files has cost the state between AU$40,000 and $50,000.
