		My intention was to present the frontier facts of East Maranoa and adjacent regions in such a way that any interested person, regardless of race, could use those facts for self-understanding, and as part of reconciliation process.

		In all tropical divisions where streams were swollen from the January rains, the follow-up heavy February rains caused widespread flooding, extensive traffic dislocation, evacuation of settlers from low lying areas and considerable property damage.

		Following the 2000 redistribution of NSW the division was rededicated to honour Elizabeth Macarthur (1769-1850)as well as John Macarthur, in recognition of both of their contributions to the development of New South Wales.
