Dhaka, Bangladesh (AHN) - First group of European Union (EU) long-term election observers (LTOs) will arrive in Bangladesh on Sunday (December 31) to observer the January 22 parliamentary election, EU officials say in Dhaka on Thursday.
A second group of 30 long-term observers are due to arrive in Bangladesh on January 6, the EU says in a press statement in the capital, Dhaka.
One hundred short-term observers (STOs) from Europe, as well as, locally-recruited short-term observers from the embassies of EU Member States in Bangladesh and a delegation of Members of the European Parliament, will also join the mission nearer election day in order to observe voting, counting, and the tabulation of results.
