Southern Command consists of XII Corps (Jodhpur) with 11th and 12th Infantry Divisions deployed at Ahmedabad and Jodhpur and the XXI Strike Corps (Bhopal) with 33rd Armoured, 36th RAPID and 54th Infantry Division.
Except for the 39th Infantry Division and the three Armoured Brigades which are engaged in Counter-Insurgency duties, all the other Divisions are deployed on the Line of Control (LoC).
Western Command consists of three Corps, XI Corps with HQ at Jullunder, deploying 7th Infantry Division (Ferozepur), 9th Infantry Division (Chandimandir) and 15th Infantry Division (Amritsar), 23rd Armoured Brigade and 55th Mechanised Brigade, the two Strike Corps being 2 Corps and X Corps with HQs at Ambala and Bhatinda.

 2002 - Kashmir Crisis
The buildup was not just in Kashmir, but also along the International Bborder [IB] dividing the Indian states of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Punjab from the Pakistani provinces of Punjab and Sind.
The deployment, which included troops in the states of Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat, is the largest since the 1971 conflict between the two rivals.

 Forts and Palaces of Madhya Pradesh
Mihir Bhoja I of Gurjara-Pratiharas extended his empire from Uttar Pradesh to major portion of Rajasthan and from Saurashtra to Bundelkhand region in the north east.
It has the Vindhya and Satpura range of mountains which were ideal for the construction of impregnable forts like Gwalior, Asirgarh, Kalinjar, Mandu, etc. The fortification walls were provided additional strength by the sedimentary rock beds on the top of which these forts were built.
The decline of Harshavardhana’s dynasty in the 7th century A D in turn led to rise of Rajputs in the northern India, prominent among them were Gurjara-Pratiharas of Kanauj, the Chandellas of Jejakabhukti, the Kalachuris of Dahala-Mandala and the Paramaras of Malwa.

There are primary two railroad lines: Route A from New Delhi to Mumbai via Agra, Ratlam and Dahod and Route B from Nizamuddin Aulia (New Delhi) to Mumbai Central through the west indian states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

 The Hindu : National : Gujjars divided on support to BJP
Divisions have surfaced among Gujjars in Rajasthan over their support to the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, with a faction in the community announcing that it was convinced by the ruling party's promise to include Gujjars in the reserved category of Scheduled Tribes and the others opposing it.
The Gujjar leaders affirm that there are about 30 lakh voters belonging to the community across the State and they wield influence in at least 20 of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies.
The Dev Sena Party and Veer Gujjar Mahasabha leaders, Gyan Singh and Bhairon Singh, led a delegation which met the Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje, here the other day and assured her of their support to BJP during the polls.
