Glenn Anton "Doc" Rivers (born October 13, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois) is a former pro basketball player from Marquette University who played point guard in the NBA notably for the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks, and San Antonio Spurs.
Rivers took over the Boston coaching position in 2004 after spending a year working as a commentator for ABC.
Rivers won the Coach of the Year award during his stint with the Magic.

Doc needs to develop in these areas, and I think he is capable of doing so (Bill Belichick certainly showed growth from his Cleveland days to his Patriot days: he became a genius, was not born one).
