  Don Markstein's Toonopedia: Doc Strange
The later Marvel character wasn't the only one Doc might have been confused with.
But since the villainous Dr. Strange plunged off a cliff to his supposed death just ten months after this one was launched, and wasn't seen again until the 1970s, he can safely be ignored.
Doc never had his own title, but he was popular enough to qualify for a featured position in America's Best Comics, an anthology of the company's biggest characters, alongside Captain Future, The Black Terror and, later, Fighting Yank.

 Doc Strange!
Doc Strange began his comic book career in Thrilling Comics no. 1 as "Doctor Strange," a super-smart crimefighter with no special powers.
However, he gained superpowers (along with a costume) in issue no. 7, becoming "Doc Strange" as of issue no. 10.
Doc Strange got his powers from taking "Alosun -- secret distillate of liquid sun atoms." (I'm not familiar with the science behind that one...) Doc Strange's powers included super strength and endurance, as well as limited flight (perhaps even just "super-jumping" ability).

dOc DVD Review: Strange Invaders (1983) - Printable
Strange Invaders is sort of a guilty pleasure for many people; a sly, satirical attempt at a sci-fi movie that doesn't mind being a bit ridiculous.
He is unable to locate his wife or her family, and when he tries to leave his car is destroyed by a strange being.
Unfortunately, I think Strange Invaders was a victim of poor timing; it came out on the coattails of giants like E.T., and for audiences to come from the age of "serious," high-budget, sci-fi in the early 1980s to something like this probably just didn't work for most people.

Story: Doc Samson is asked by the daughter of a pair of old friends of his to help her find her parents, who have gone missing in a haunted State  park.
While the magic elements felt unusual for a Doc Samson story, Di Filippo continuously reminded us that Doc Samson is a doctor and he never loses that perspective in the story, so even though he’s in an outlandish plot for him, it’s still Doc Samson.
Although Doc Samson appears to be out of his element in this tale of magic, it’d be easy for a bad writer to forget that this is Doc Samson’s own title, and make Doc incidental to the resolution of this story.
