The Dodge Daytona - info, performance, specs, more
The Daytona has always been a 3 door 4 seater, but the rear seats are very small and it should really be considered a 2 seater for all practical purposes, with its small 97" wheel base.
Stock performance with the 2.2 was not up to the Daytona’s looks, but it was produced as an economy car and Dodge relied on the turbo versions and sporty looks to attract younger drivers; few automakers made a fast, affordable sporty car at the time.

  1969 Dodge Daytona - RussoandSteele.com
The Dodge Daytona was created in 1969 with the sole purpose of winning aerodynamic supremacy for Dodge on the NASCAR tracks.
Daytona’s, however, weighed almost 300 pounds more than regular Chargers with the same engines, and thus their performance on the street was slightly worse.
Sadly, 1969 would be the only year that the Dodge Daytona would be available, although Plymouth would try the same thing for 1970 with their Superbird.

Dodge, an American automobile brand, has produced three separate vehicles with the name, Dodge Charger Daytona, all of which were modified Dodge Chargers.
The name is taken from Daytona Beach, Florida, which was an early center for auto racing and still hosts the Daytona 500, one of NASCAR's premier events.
The Daytona was built on the 1969 Charger's R/T trim specifications, meaning that it carried a heavy-duty suspension and brake setup and was equipped with a 440 in³ Magnum engine as standard.
