Topic: Dogmatix

Dogmatix - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dogmatix is a fictional character, a tiny dog who belongs to Obelix in the Asterix comics.
Dogmatix is the only main character that is an animal in the series.
His role is minor in most of the stories, significant mainly as a 'bone' of contention between Asterix and Obelix as to whether he should be allowed to accompany them on their adventures.

Since then, not only has Dogmatix made many appearances (and several puppies as in “Asterix and the Actress”), he has also taken on a full-fledged role in the series.
In the 1970s, Dogmatix even had his own collection of albums, along with new animal friends to accompany him in his adventures, albums which are highly prized by collectors today.
Much to Asterix’s surprise, he even gave Dogmatix the gift of speech in the 2003 story Chanticleerix, which can be found today in the “Asterix and the Class Act” album.

Dogmatix, Obelix's little dog, has therefore been given the mission of guard dog by the virtual village elders, to be on the lookout for any plans to conserve our planet.
Dogmatix has had this instinct ever since his first appearance in the album called "Asterix and the Banquet", by the renowned 'Celtologists' Goscinny and Uderzo, who told us about the famous feats of Asterix and Obelix in the year 50 BC.
Here, in the virtual village, still and for evermore in the hands of the Gauls, Dogmatix will tell you about the plans for the sustainable development of the planet (SDP, or DDP in French).

IGN: Asterix: Search for Dogmatix Review
Note: Asterix: Search for Dogmatix is currently only available in Europe -- Infogrames has no plans on bringing this game to the US -- if this game interests you, you might want to look into importing the game -- check your local import house for details.
Unfortunately, the first attempt at such a game -- a fl and white title released in the early nineties -- was a dull, derivative effort; and as 'Search For Dogmatix' also seems to be nothing new, you'd be forgiven for dismissing it on similar grounds.
Assuming him kidnapped by their enemies, Asterix and Obelix -- the heroes of the piece -- begin a new adventure as they attempt to track their pooch down and pulverise any Romans they meet along the way.
