Eastern Jewel's entrance into Doihara's office in the dead of night was calculated to impress upon the spy chief that she was a dramatic master of disguise, worthy of any top agent in the employ of Japan.
Doihara had the visitor brought to him as he was doing paperwork, his gun close to him on the desk.
Doihara later stated that he smuggled the boy-emperor into the trunk of his car and, after a wild ride and a trip down the river, managed to get him aboard a Japanese ship which took him to Mukden.

SignOnSanDiego.com > News > World -- Collection of poems by Japanese war criminals comes to light
The 30 poems are assembled in two booklets that came to light this month after a historian obtained them from the family of a prisoner who served with other suspected war criminals held by U.S. authorities in the 1940s and early 1950s.
The bards include several Japanese officials who were convicted of war crimes and hanged –; particularly wartime Prime Minister Hideki Tojo and wartime air force commander Kenji Doihara.
The poets, held in Tokyo's Sugamo Prison, mused wistfully about the seasons and dwelled sadly on their own impending deaths, writing in short Japanese forms like haiku, in free verse or in meters borrowed from ancient China.

He established a large and opulent monastery and had three Buddhist monks attending him, along with six "Bhikshunis," or begging girls.
The monastery was, in fact, an espionage headquarters that Lincoln operated for Japanese intelligence for the ubiquitous Colonel Kenji Doihara of the Special Service Organ.
The "illness" was a Japanese dagger driven into Lincoln's back by one of Doihara's assassins, sent after the Japanese learned that Lincoln, his loyalties forever unpredictable, had concluded that Japan would lose the war and had gone back to Chiang Kai-shek as a spy for China.
