 Amroth & his Legacy
His son, Amroth, was almost certainly born in Eriador, however, and given the close association between Amroth and the Lord and Lady of Eriador in later years, they were likely members of their household or Court.
Amroth never married, having fallen in love with Nimrodel, a beautiful Nandorin Elf who lived by the falls near the source of the stream which became named after her.
Mithrellas found shelter and stayed with Imrazôr, the Lord of Dol Amroth, and bore him a son and daughter - Galador and Gilmith; thus the blood of the Princes was mixed with that of the Nandor.

Lonely Wanderers and the Tales That Almost Were
The second tradition, implying there were Lords of Dol Amroth at least as far back as 1944 and perhaps extending all the way to a time prior to the founding of Gondor, was developed in the late 1960s.
Amroth started out as Celeborn's brother, but then became Celeborn's son, and finally became the son of Malgalad or Amdir, the King of Lothlorien who died with many of his warriors in the Dead Marshes in the first Battle of Dagorlad at the end of the Second Age.
So, in the final stage of the history Tolkien developed for the Lords of Dol Amroth, Imrazor becomes a Prince of Belfalas, a Lord of Dol Amroth, and the son of Adrahil of Dol Amroth who commanded the Left Wing of the Northern Army of Gondor under King Ondoher.

Amroth was originally the son of Galadriel and Celeborn, but somewhere along the way Tolkien changed his mind, and Amroth became the son of Amdir, a Sindarin prince (probably from Doriath) who established a kingdom in Lorien among the Silvan Elves.
Tolkien describes Dol Amroth as a stronghold overlooking the bay, and yet Prince Imrahil brought more than 700 men to Minas Tirith in the War of the Ring (some people estimate he brought as many as 1,000 men, assuming that he had about 300 knights).
The Lords of Dol Amroth were princes, and a note in Unfinished Tales says that Elendil gave the title of prince to their ancestors because they were his kinsmen.
