DoloresFuller (born 1923) is best known as the one-time girlfriend of the low-budget film director Ed Wood, Jr.
According to Fuller, the female lead in the latter film was written for Fuller but Wood gave it to Loretta King instead when she offered to help "finance" the movie.
Fuller left Wood shortly after and later earned popularity in her own right serving as a body double for Dinah Shore in The Dinah Shore Show and by writing several songs for Elvis Presley including "Rock-a-hula Baby", "I Got Lucky" and "Spinout".
DoloresFuller is best known (downright famous, in fact) for her 40-years-past career as an actress, her mid-'50s relationship with director Edward D. Wood Jr., and the three movies that she made with him.
Later on, her ability as a songwriter manifested itself through the intervention of her friend, producer Hal Wallis; Fuller had wanted to get an acting role in the Elvis Presley movie Blue Hawaii, which Wallis was producing, but instead he put her in touch with Hill and Range, the publisher that provided Presley with songs.
Fuller also had her music recorded by Nat 'King' Cole, Peggy Lee, and other leading talents of the period.
Born Dolores Eble in Indiana in 1923, DoloresFuller is best known for her association with director Ed Wood and as one of the stars of the 1953 film Glen or Glenda; however, she has enjoyed a lengthy and varied career in show business.
By the time Fuller met Ed Wood in 1952, she was already firmly established as a television personality.
Today, DoloresFuller is still active in show biz; her musical show is nearing completion and tells the real story of her life with Ed Wood and their dear friend, Bela Lugosi.
Theres the famous scene where Glen confesses his problem to his girlfriend (DoloresFuller) and, in a stiff, almost ritualized way, she hands him her angora sweater.
Also released as Bride of the Atom, this was the film that separated Wood from DoloresFuller, who was furious that she didnt get the female lead.
Minor thrills include DoloresFuller in a small role and a collection of old radio equipment that doubles for a mad scientist lab.

If DoloresFuller had ever thought in the 1970s, 1980s, or early '90s about what she would be known for professionally in the 21st century, it might well have been for writing songs for Elvis Presley and Peggy Lee or perhaps managing Tanya Tucker early in the singer's career.
