		Domenico Modugno (January 9, 1928 – August 6, 1994) was an Italian singer and songwriter.
		From a young age Domenico wanted to become an actor and in 1951, after his military service, he enrolled in an acting school.
		Modugno won the Sanremo Music Festival for the second time in a row in 1959 and represented Italy again in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1959 and 1966.

		Inspired by the movies, Domenico Modugno began attending the Experimental Center of Cinematography, making his debut in 1951 while playing a role in Eduardo de Filippo's Filomena Marturano.
		In 1958, Domenico Modugno joined San Remo's Festival with a song called "Nel Blue Dipinto Di Blu," also known as "Volare." Considered a classic in the Italian music scene, that song allowed him to achieve two Grammy awards for Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
