Domestic AC power plugs and sockets - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Domestic AC power plugs and sockets allow a connection between the mains electricity (household, usually single-phase, AC electrical power) and the appliances commonly used in homes.
Plug F, known as CEE 7/4 and commonly called a "Schuko plug", is like E except that it has two earthing clips on the sides of the plug instead of a female earth contact.
The plug is rated at 16 A. Above that, equipment must either be wired permanently to the mains or connected via another higher power connector such as the IEC 309 system.

Another possibility would be to split this article putting the general section (stuff that isn't specifc to plug type) at "AC power plugs and sockets" and then having the actual socket types split between "general purpose AC power plugs and sockets" and "Industrial and multiphase power plugs and sockets".
I propose the title of General purpose AC power plugs and sockets.

The male connector is the plug, the female the socket.
The connector normally mounted on a cable is the plug, and the connector mounted on the equipment is the socket.

Industrial and multiphase power plugs and sockets - Psychology Central
Blue 2P+E sockets (generally 16 A although 32 A is becoming more common) are used near-universally by UK campsites and yacht marinas to provide domestic mains power to caravans or boats; they are also used elsewhere in Europe for the same purpose, though in some countries the local domestic plug is also widely used.
Almost all three-phase power plugs have an earth (also known as "ground") connection, but may not have a neutral, because large appliances such as circular saws, air conditioners, etc. tend to be delta connected.
These plugs and sockets will mate with normal plugs and sockets of the same pin arrangement but they are only waterproof when a lewden plug is used in a lewden socket and the screw ring is done up (sockets have a metal cover that screws on to waterproof them when not in use).

Some PC power supplies have a voltage switch, on the back of the case, for 110 V or 220 V — this should never be set incorrectly, and should always be checked if a PC has come from an unknown source or may have been tampered with.
Where single insulated equipment is all that is available and the sockets have no earths or dubious earths it is best to at least ensure that the earths of all appliances likely to be touched at the same time are connected together (for example by plugging them into the same powerstrip with earth contacts).

 Socket - Psychology Central
An electrical socket is a synonym of electrical outlet: an electrical device connected to a power source onto which another device can be plugged or screwed in.
Each socket gets bound to a given port, which lets the transport layer protocol (typically UDP or TCP) identify which application to send the data to.
A socket head screw is a screw (or bolt) with a cylindrical head containing a socket into which the often hexagonal point of the special screwdriver will fit.

Type F [[Mains power plug and socket]] The term mains usually refers to the general purpose AC electrical power supply (as in "I've connected the appliance to the mains").
A device at 120 V draws twice as much current as a device with the same power draw at 240 V. electric dryer requires 12.5 A at 240 V or 25 A at 120 V. The end result is that wiring must be larger, and each outlet supplies less power.
In Japan, the electrical power supply to households is at 100 V. Eastern and northern parts of Honshu (including Tokyo) as well as Hokkaido have a frequency of 50 Hz, whereas western Honshu (including Nagoya, Osaka, and Hiroshima), Shikoku, Kyushu and Okinawa operate at 60 Hz.
