Starting hand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In poker, the starting hand is the initial set of cards dealt to each player before any voluntary betting takes place.
For example, in Seven-card stud this is two downcards and one upcard; in Texas hold'em it is two downcards; in Five-card draw it is five cards.
Optimal starting hand standards can be very sensitive to factors such as the betting structure of a game, position, and the character of the other players, as well as the rules of the game being played.

When face and hand are separated in the picture, the effect of the head is the largest on later-stage algorithms for tracking or recognition.
The idea is to draw a vertical line in the picture between the “heap” of the hand and the ”heap” of the head.
As usually the hand appears bigger to the camera than the head, we simply attribute the hand to the side with the highest count of filtered pixels.

 Encyclopedia: No limit (poker)
In casinos in the United Kingdom, a player folds by giving his hand as is to the "house" dealer, who will spread the hand's upcards for the other players to see before mucking them.
Upon the showdown, the players eligible for the side pot—and only those players—reveal their hands, and the winner among them takes the side pot, regardless of what the all in player holds (indeed, before he even shows).
After the side pot is awarded, the all in player then shows his hand, and if it is superior to all others shown, he wins the main pot (otherwise he loses as usual).

Dominating hand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In poker, a dominating hand is one with an overwhelming statistical advantage over another specific hand.
Q♠ J♣, because this hand has no ways to improve that the first one doesn't also have (two pair, trips, straight), and the first hand has some of the second hand's outs as well (unseen cards include two kings, but only one queen), giving it a significant advantage.
One must judge not only whether your opponent's hand might be better than yours, but whether or not it might dominate yours to such a degree that long-run fluctuations of luck will amplify the consequences of a mistaken play rather than mitigating them.

 Poker:Hold'em - Wikibooks, collection of open-content textbooks
A hand is dominated if it is a non-pair hand facing a higher hand with one card the same, or facing a pair of the same or higher value as one of its cards.
Some hand here are chosen for their ability to make a useful strong one-pair hand; others are chosen for the ability to make a straight, flush or set.
The other hands should be played much more carefully, especially in a raised pot, and especially in a full ring game, where a dominating hand is present much more often than you might think.

 Poker Hand Games
Some poker hands (particularly small straights and flushes) may be both the low poker hand and the high poker hand, and are particularly powerful (or particularly dangerous if they are mediocre both ways).
No-pair hands are often described by the one or two highest cards in the poker hand, such as "king high" or "ace-queen high", or by as many cards as are necessary to break a tie.
These hands are be referred to in speech, for example, as "jacks and fours" or "jacks over fours" or just "jacks on the roof" or "jacks up" (the latter is common in poker games where the smaller pair is rarely needed to break ties, so it doesn't need to be mentioned most of the time).

Dominating the front of the camera is the (sturdy) lens barrel out of which extends the remaining lens barrel (just 11 mm more).
In your hand it's comfortable, well balanced and sturdy, everything is well placed, the two-stage (slow, fast) zoom control sits right under your thumb with the 45 degree bevel below the perfect place for resting your thumb for increased grip.
At the front the small protrusion on the hand grip does nothing to improve grip (it's a styling hint), it would have been nice to have a small rubber strpi here for fingertip grip, but I guess that would have spoilt the stylised front of the camera.

Some games are played High-low split, where the player with the best traditional poker hand (called the High hand) splits the pot with the best low hand (by one of the methods above).
Low hands tie more frequently than high hands, especially in Community card games, so it is not uncommon for such a hand to win a small fraction of a poker pot.
For example, if one player has the high hand on Showdown, and two other players tie for the best low hand, the high hand wins half of the pot and each low hand wins only a quarter of the pot.

Boxing and movement dominated the final three rounds of action as Phillips struggled to let his hands go while Mitchell remained on the mark.

This is because of the implied odds of hitting certain hands, particularly hitting trips or better when holding a pocket pair and hitting flushes (the nut flush in particular).
This means that you can play more hands in more positions, but you must still be cognizant of the fact that all your chips could be at stake on any one hand, and you must still play very disciplined after the flop to let go of weaker hands.
These are hands you should feel comfortable going ALL-IN on pre-flop, however that usually isn’t the best way to play them since the other players will be likely to fold, leaving you with just the blinds ($.75 at the tables I play).

 THE HEAD HALTER FOR DOGS
In wolf packs, the dominating wolf always puts pressure on the muzzle of the submissive wolf, whether it is a little nip or just a bump of the muzzle.
When he or she fights the dominating hand action, you need to grab the small strap under the dog's chin and pull down on the halter firmly (but not hard enough to hurt the muzzle) as you give the command "NO!".
Once your dog shows very little dominant behavior and there is no growling or attempts to bite you as you place your hand on your dog's muzzle for about a minute several times an hour, then you can try placing your hand on the dog's muzzle without the halter.
