Hôtel Industriel Paris by Dominique Perrault
Perrault's Hôtel Industriel in the south of Paris is a highly successful combination of transparency and minimalism.
Perrault won the commission in competition, giving him the opportunity to create this essential precursor to his Bibliothèque Nationale François Mitterand, which was completed five years later and a couple of blocks to the North.
Built in the unglamorous shadow of a junction in the périphérique, Paris's orbital motorway, the Hôtel Industriel is part of an attempt to prevent the loss of industry from the city to out-of-town sites.

 Dominique Perrault - Morceaux ...
The exhibition, that principally aims to present Dominique Perrault’s most important projects, inspires a debate on the current state of the world of contemporary architecture, in an attempt to promote an encounter between its representatives, invited to measure swords with Perrault’s contribution.
The presentation owes its density and force to the size of the panels, their luminosity, the contrast between the graphic documents in fl and white and the color photographs.
The exhibition design thus harmonizes with the architectural approach of Dominique Perrault, because it conveys, with its radical solution, the spirit inspiring the projects, and guides the attention of the visitor to the spatial and visual context rather than suggesting a merely didactic and scenographic approach.

Rizzoli New York | Catalog | Dominique Perrault by Maria Vittoria Capitanucci
Dominique Perrault erupted into the European architecture landscape in the early '90s, winning the competition for the Paris National Library-and then the French National Prize for Architecture in 1996, followed by the Mies van der Rohe Prize in 1997.
Perrault developed a revolutionary design production balanced between a sophisticated rationalism and an elegant use of technology as seen in the Berlin Velodrome and in the Mediateque of Venissieux. This richly illustrated volume examines the complete work of Perrault and concludes with an interview with the master.
Moving from Perrault's early international projects, Capitanucci reviews his creative production, focusing her essay on the recent works by dividing it into thematic sections: Architecture and Contemporary Public Space-Five Projects, Boxes, Late Nineties-Competitions and Design Experiments, and Urban renewal.
