The Honourable Donald "Don" Boudria, PC (born August 30, 1949 in Hull, Quebec) is a former Canadian politician.
Boudria, after a brief period in the government backbenches, was appointed as Chief Government Whip on September 15, 1994.

Boudria defeated Progressive Conservative incumbent J. Albert Belanger by 5,172 votes in Prescott and Russell, and served in the legislature for three years as a member the Ontario Liberal Party, which was then the official opposition to the Progressive Conservative government of William Davis.
Boudria said political parties that have a high number of women running as candidates could be rewarded by having a bigger portion of their campaign expenses paid back by the state.
Boudria also defended Ottawa's plan in the legislation to impose a spending limit of $150,000 on third parties at the national level and $3,000 at the riding level during an election campaign and to prohibit the media from publishing opinion polls 48 hours before election day.

Boudria said such a measure would certainly encourage political parties to make a more serious effort at recruiting women, who remain the most under-represented segment of Canadian society in the House of Commons.
Boudria made the suggestion to members of the standing committee on procedure and house affairs as they began to study Bill C-2, the new Canada Elections Act, which he introduced in the House of Commons last June.
Boudria suggested that the threshold should be raised to at least 30% for any party to get a higher level of reimbursement from the government.

Liberal Party of Canada Rat Pack - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Rat Pack was the nickname given to a group of high-profile Canadian Liberal opposition Members of Parliament during the Progressive Conservative government of Brian Mulroney.
The Liberal Party had been badly defeated in the 1984 election, and many of its leaders were discredited or highly unpopular.
While the Rat Pack fared well under Jean Chrétien, under the somewhat more right of centre Paul Martin, the remaining Rat Packers Sheila Copps and Don Boudria were relegated to the backbenches.

Government House Leader Don Boudria acknowledged yesterday that the marijuana bill is unlikely to make it through Parliament this fall and said it is not likely that the government will move up the planned vote on a bill to legalize same-sex marriage.
Boudria said he would like to have the pot bill passed by the end of the fall session, but suggested that is unlikely.
Boudria said that he is planning for a fall session that will continue to mid-December, weeks after a new Liberal leader is to be chosen, and insisted that will not exacerbate internal Liberal divisions.

Chuck Strahl, the Alliance House leader, confirmed on May 23 that Don Boudria, the Liberal House leader, has drafted a proposal that would allow government MPs elected in 1993 and aged under 55 to collect the severance in addition to their parliamentary pensions.
The final details of the severance plan are still being worked out, but one source said Boudria's offer hinges on Opposition agreement to pass the perk package without debate before the Commons rises for its summer recess in June.
Boudria's decision to seek the enriched severance package follows complaints from several Liberal MPs who believe they were financially shortchanged when Parliament agreed in 1995 to trim down the MPs' so-called "gold-plated pension plan."

The father of this law, Government House Leader Don Boudria, has noted that the principles of "fairness, transparency and accessibility" lie at the core of the proposed legislation.
Groups like us or labour unions, charities, professional associations, and even individual citizens will be severely limited in promoting their point of view during an election.
Boudria, spending by groups other than political parties could "favour those with the deepest campaign coffers, lead to abuses, corruption.and generally harm democratic objectives." But the evidence proves otherwise.

In the latest skirmish, long-term Liberal rat pack member, Don Boudria accused Canada Christian College CEO and Defend Marriage Coalition firebrand Dr. Charles McVety of breaching Internet rules and impersonating a member of parliament (a criminal act) in a recent Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) interview.
"Boudria’s claim of being impersonated is pure hallucination," McVety says.
According to a yet another leaked Liberal memo, Boudria’s CBC diatribe against McVety originated from an idea presented at last Tuesday’s Liberal caucus meeting, when Liberal MP Mark Holland allegedly circulated a memo to begin soliciting participants for a stepped-up anti-Defend Marriage Coalition campaign.
