Don Seven, also known as Stephen Fievet and better known as LMNOP (1), predated "lo-fi pop" with his melodic tours de force, starting with the legendary Elemen Opee Elpee (1986).
Another important school to come out of the South originated from the Sneakers, a Chapel Hill (North Carolina) band that released its first EP in 1976 and that comprised the young talents of Don Dixon, Mitch Easter and Chris Stamey.
Don Fleming began his saga in Washington's Velvet Monkeys (1), who recorded an album of pop-rockabilly-surf-psychedelic Sixties revival, Future (1983).
