Don Floyd (born 1938) was an American college and professional (Any of various games played with a ball (round or oval) in which two teams try to kick or carry or propel the ball into each other's goal) football player.
Lining up primarily as a defensive end, he used a combination of strength and speed to establish a presence to be accounted for by the opposition on every play.
Don Floyd is on the Oilers' All-Time Team, and is a member of the (additional info and facts about American Football League Hall of Fame) American Football League Hall of Fame.

ASU had one unbeaten football season during Floyd’s tenure and the Indians were on the verge of another perfect season when he left the university in 1975.
Those were Floyd’s major achievements, but he also helped ASU start its women’s basketball program, hired the school’s first full-time sports information director and worked for budget increases that led to more athletic scholarships.
Floyd highly recommended that ASU promote Davidson, an assistant coach, and Davidson built a 51-32-1 record as ASU’s football coach from 1971-78.

Yeah, Floyd isn't what it used to be, but no one is forcing you to see them so I don't get what all the disgust and vitriol is about.
And I'll add that Floyd were more successful at their art-rock experiments than most precisely because they never ignored either side of the equation.
I have seen Pink Floyd, the Ramones, and Radiohead live (the last two in rather intimate venues), still like listening to their songs, and would have no qualms whatsoever about paying to see any of them again (in a fantasy world, obviously, WRT the Ramones).
