  Don Perlin, “Mr. Reliable”
Don’s under the weather at the moment and while he’s healing, I thought it would be nice to send him our love and a get-well wish with a look-back at his impressive, reliable career.
Don was born in 1929 and raised in New York City.
Here’s Chuck Dixon weighing in on Don: “I've often used one particular freelancer as an example to disprove the fatuousness of the ‘youth is king’ philosophy of comics.

DON PERLIN @ ADELAIDE COMICS AND BOOKS
Don Perlin isn't a name that automatically leaps into your mind when you're discussing the explosion of artists and writers at Marvel during the 1970's.
Don has been active in the comics industry for over forty years now, and although he doesn't draw anything on a regular basis, he still keeps his pencil busy, and going on the quality of his most recent commission art, he's lost none of his skills.
In a way whoever told Don that was right - he wasn't good enough to merely ink in straight lines around a panel - he was light years beyond that, he was far too good for such trivial jobs.

Perlin got his start in the 1950s, employed by legendary cartoonist Will Eisner, and later Eisner’s ex-business partner, Jerry Iger, to do menial work.
Perlin began drawing and inking Western, horror and "big foot" (humor) comics for all of the majors.
In 1973, Perlin began to work on "Werewolf By Night," a monthly series in which Perlin and Doug Moench chronicled the angst-ridden exploits of Malibu resident Jack Russell, who wrestled with lycanthropy during a full moon.

But they were starting to get the idea that superheroes were on the way out (and the failure of her comic probably reinforced it), so the next time Greer was seen, she was revamped into something resembling a monster.
In Giant-Size Creatures #1 (July, 1974), writer Tony Isabella (Black Lightning, Everett True) and artist Don Perlin (The Defenders, Ghost Rider) gave her that second origin.
She stayed with that group for years, but declining sales eventually forced it to be re-absorbed into the parent group.
