Don Pyle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
During hiatus from the Shadowy Men, Pyle played with several other bands such as King Cobb Steelie and Fifth Column.
After Phono-Comb came to an end, Don Pyle began a new musical project with Andrew Zealley called Greek Buck.
More experimental than his previous outfits, the group are noted for their soundtrack compositions, such as those composed for the films of John Greyson including The Law Of Enclosures (1999) and Proteus (2003), and for Sarah Polley's film I Shout Love.

Don Pyle and Andrew Zealey - The Law Of Enclosures
In case you didn't know, Don Pyle and Andrew Zealley make up Toronto's Greek Buck, a great independent duo that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
Pyle and Zealley truly display a well-developed talent for composing, as they have both crafted a wonderful film score that rocks without rocking (that was not clever).

To say that Pyle and Zealley cover a lot of musical terrain together is a massive understatement.
With their second-ever live gig being at this Friday's Ono tribute at Lee's, Zealley and Pyle have been rehearsing their stripped-down, electronic cover versions of four Yoko songs for months.
Pyle adds, "Her bravery is inspiring because of so many aspects, not only what she's doing musically and vocally, but that she continues to do it at all with having so many years of such hostility thrown back at her."

The topper may be "Non-Resistance," an empyrean, piano-driven ballad that evokes the spiritual fusion of Roy Ayers or Lonnie Liston Smith.
While meant to underscore the drama of John Greyson's as-yet-unreleased film, Don Pyle and Andrew Zealley's lugubrious soundtrack to The Law of Enclosures is also marvellously compelling as stand-alone music.
A combination of moody chamber pieces and moodier synth drones, Pyle and Zealley's effort recalls the electro-acoustic soundscapes of fellow Canadian film scorer Mychael Danna.

Bassist Diamond and drummer Pyle are two-thirds of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, perhaps Canada's most unlikely film composers and definitely Canada's coolest surf guitar-playing cult heroes.
The Shadowy motto is "Instrumental since 1985," and the Toronto-based trio has been churning out gritty little nuggets of surf magic-sans vocals-in the most unusual packages.
One of the segments of Comic Book Confidential features artist Charles Burns narrating a beastly tale entitled The Baby, The Shadowy Men liked it so much, they borrowed it for a bonus CD track on their upcoming album, Savvy Show Stoppers.
