Don had discovered far too often that his stories were printed with incorrect pages of art, improper colors, poor lettering, or pixelated computer conversions of the illustrations.
Don Rosa has a huge following in Finland, and in 1999, he created a special 32-page Donald, Scrooge, Gearloose and nephews strip for his Finnish fans; Sammon Salaisuus (translates to The secret of the Sampo, but it is officially named The Quest for Kalevala [1] in English), based on the Finnish national epic, the Kalevala.
Don admitted however that a scene of the first chapter was inspired by a story by Tony Strobl.

Some times the gags in Don Rosa's stories has nothing - or at least nothing directly - to do with the plot of the story, and they don't change the plot (considerably) either.
An example of that is that when Don draws shadows on the caracters he draws the lines closer and he draws more lines than other comics drawers does.

I think the first time I really noticed Don Rosa and found out that I was a fan was when I read his story "The duck who fell from the sky".
It's very hard to say which Don Rosa story is the best, since I love so many of them.

Don is doing an unedited (as Picsou says) part of Lo$, becoming 10B, where Scrooge and Theordore Roosevelt meat at the Panama channel.
