Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah
I became frustrated towards the middle of the novel when Shimoda was teaching Richard how he can become a messiah.
Shimoda's somewhat nonsense and contradictory phrases seemed a little corny at times and this was where I started loosing interest in the book.

You've heard about "Golden Convergence" from Robert Morgan of Recon for Investors, you've read John Martellaro's Warp Core columns at Applelinks, and now Donald Shimoda has written a fine article at Think Secret that should be required reading if you need even more convincing.
What this convergence thing is, to use Donald's words, is a " coalescence of historically separate technologies into one indistinguishable continuum." And one point that Robert Morgan, John Martellaro, and now Donald Shimoda continue to make is that Apple Computer has been slowly putting together the elements that could make it all happen.
Donald's Think Secret article lists all the components he thinks are related: Quartz, Cocoa, QuickTime, FireWire, iMacs, and Java.

Readers of Richard Bach's Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah, will recall that said messiah, Donald Shimoda, carried with him a small book entitled the Messiah's Handbook.
According to Shimoda, all Bach had to do was, "Open it, and whatever you need to know is there." Now, decades after Illusions was first published, Bach has made the handbook available to all of us "advanced souls in training."
Rather than reading it cover-to-cover, Bach counsels us to close our eyes, focus on the question we want an answer to, then open the handbook at random, open our eyes and read what's on the page.
