County Donegal (Irish: Contae Dhún na nGall) is a county in the northwest of Ireland.
The Irish spoken in the Donegal Gaeltacht (Irish speaking area) is of the West Ulster dialect, while Inishowen, which became English-speaking in the early 20th century, used the East Ulster dialect.
Donegal County Council's main offices are located in the County House in Lifford, but regional offices are located in Carndonagh, Milford, Letterkenny, Dungloe and Donegal.

Last year proved to be the best on record for Donegal airport as 45,000 passengers used scheduled services to and from the airport – an increase of 11% on the previous year.
Now the airport authorities are predicting that the figure could break the 50,000 mark for the first time.
