| | Situation Reports: Viet Nam: Floods - Aug 2002, Summary report - Flood, inundation and rehabilitation in Mekong River ... |
 | | By October 2002, deeply-inundated provinces of Long An, Dong Thap, An Giang, and Kien Giang built 205 resident clusters, of which 110 were completed and 4,358 households were evacuated to flood havens. |
 | | Provinces actively used local forces: Local budget, social allowance, contingency budget, and contingency fund to promptly provide relief aids to poor and affected households, ensuring no households in hunger and in sick. |
 | | Thus, to reduce budgetary difficulties for provinces, it is requested that the Prime Minister should provide flood-stricken provinces with VND 20 billion (Long An Province: VND 4 billion; Dong Thap Province: VND 7 billion; An Giang Province: VND 6 billion; Kien Giang Province: VND 3 billion) to support to people in flood-prone areas. |
