The 1st Donisthorpe Scout Group was formed by the Rev CR Bramley and Mr PG Devereux togeather with the Popejoy family in 1943.
To celebrate the Group's 10th Anniversary in 1953, two special events happened; Donisthorpe produced it's first Gang Show (a revue show with songs and sketches written by Ralph Reader, first seen in Lonond in 1932), the second thing was a trip with other groups in the district to Kanderstag, Germany, travelling by train.
Donisthorpe are the only band to have appeared in every championship since, indeed, they were proud winners in 1988 and carried on winning for another decade.
