Wesley Clark’s campaign manager, Donnie Fowler, announced yesterday that he is leaving the campaign, saying that he’s frustrated over the divisions between DC political professionals and grassroots supporters who helped lead the “Draft Clark” movement.
If Fowler, who was Al Gore’s field director in 2000, wanted local activists to play a larger role in the campaign, he was in a position to help make that happen as Clark’s campaign manager.
Fowler did a great job getting the campaign started, but he was not irreplaceable.

I was concerned whether Fowler (and the other candidates as well) truly embraced the netroots or just the value of a few buzzwords.
Someone asked Fowler how he would have responded, and he answered without the slightest hesitation, "swiftly." He felt the response should have been swift and hard, and said he and others in the field begged the campaign for such a response.

Well, I recently checked my inbox and had a message from good ole Donnie.  I assume it was an update for the folks who helped him in his quest to become DNC chairman.
Fowler has left the genteel South and made his way back to Silicon Valley. Donnie is a strange cat to figure out sometimes.  You never know where his career path will lead him; must be nice to have options ;-)

More than twenty-four hours ago, DNC Chair candidate Donnie Fowler posted a diary on MyDD and then fled without answering any of the dozens of questions that people asked.
Fowler is trouble not for any obvious policy or reform reasons, in my judgment, but because he's incompetent in my opinion.
Fowler has NEVER shown a bit of success at a high level in his work.
