		Doogie Howser never was like Alex P. Keaton or other TV-sitcom mega-nerds; he was a proficient doctor with a mind sharp as a razor who was simply trapped in the body of a 16-year-old.
		While this first season DVD box set of Doogie Howser, M.D. may not completely convince the anti-Doogie cynics, for those who vaguely remember watching the show when it was on but aren't sure if the series holds up at all, it's time to take a long, deep breath.
		The perfect blend of goofy, kid-oriented comedy and astute adult drama, no matter how cheesy and silly its concept, Doogie Howser, M.D. proved to children of the '90s that TV could be both syrupy and deep.

		doogie howser such a good show it jumped when they had that creepy show where Doogie is reunited with his babysitter (was it chelsea noble of Growing Pains fame?) and they end up necking.
		Doogie also had a very nice looking girlfriend, but in real life if this sitcom was true she would only have been after him for his money because he was a geek and so was the entire cast.

		I also like how he didn't shy away from the child actor thing; he mentions how he still gets, "Hey, aren't you the Doogie Howser kid?" I only wish they'd had him talk about his time with Max Casella (Vinnie).
		For example, in one episode Doogie is expected to get it on with his girlfriend, yes, in that way, but at the same time at the hospital he helps a teenage mother give birth to a child.
		In one episode Doogie is offered a much nicer job then his current residence at the hospital, but the trade-off is that he wouldn't be able to fully utilize his skills.
