DOOM consisted of three episodes with nine levels each; eight of these levels needed to be completed to finish an episode, while the ninth one was a secret level that could be accessed from within the first seven.
The DOOM engine continued to be developed even after the initial release of the game; there were a total of 11 versions, from the original 1.0 that was released on December 10 1993 to the final 1.9 release.

As this is a first release not everything is totally up to par, like music or touchscreen control (as in, it has neither), but the Youtube videos linked seem to show that it otherwise works like the game we've known and loved for 12.5 years or so.
