Doom Metal, a world of slow, depressive lethargy that delves into one's deep emotions of pain and sorrow.
From drone doom, to stoner doom, to sludge doom, and to the extremely creepy Funeral Doom, this genre, although very simplistic, sends the listener straight down into the depths of hell, as you hear screaching and screaming emphasizing the agony of emotions.
But this type of doom, known as Khanate(pronounced Con-Eight), is the closest to actually feeling pain within your body, running through your arms down to your legs, and back into the core of your soul.

Despite the fact that I have heard many ironic and devaluating comments about the French metal scene, I have only good things to tell about the French doom metal bands I've heard thus far: Worship, Despond, Monolithe and this Ataraxie are all unique, self-willed doom entities with their own style, personality and approach.
The songs on this album (except for the last one, which I will talk about later on) are from the first release of the band and are brought with the conviction of a band who truly love what they're doing.
The last song is an exception to this, as it is a cover of the funeral doom classic by cult group Worship.
