I liked John Francis Moore's run on Doom 2099, as it definitely set the groundwork and made Doom into something he arguably hadn't been in years in the core comics: a powerful, rational, credible individual whose every deed conveyed that he was a force to be reckoned with.
There are a lot of great Doom stories during his run, even the Kristoff thing was cool, except that he never completed it and it just became one huge cluster**ck by the time they did away with it in issue #350 long after he left the title.
