		New Delhi: Private television channels using state-run Doordarshan's direct-to-home (DTH) platform are upset at its plans to impose a hefty carriage fee of Rs.10 million a year from June 1.
		Doordarshan is a public broadcaster that functions under the scrutiny of parliament and draws a substantial budget allocation for its functioning," an official of a private channel told IANS.
		Pointing out that DD Direct Plus was a "splendid success as it was a unique platform for all Doordarshan channels and a blend of private channels", the private channel official alleged the move to charge a carriage fee was "yet another case of bureaucracy ruling government policies".

		Doordarshan on Wednesday reiterated its offer of $10 million saying Ten Sports had given simultaneous telecast rights to the Pakistani national channel for a small consideration of $0.5 million.
