Doppelganger (Infinity War) - Marvel Universe: The definitive online source for Marvel super hero bios.
The Doppelganger began life as a living fractal, a geometric pattern in the Dimension of Manifestations, able to assume the forms and attributes of any being, real or abstract.
Following the battle, the Doppelganger was retrieved by the demonic Demogoblin, who unknowingly infused it with supernatural energy, enabling it to remain in the Earth dimension following the Magus'; defeat.
The disoriented Doppelganger wandered New York for days before being attacked by the psychotic Carnage, who mistook the creature for their mutual enemy Spider-Man; however, Carnage's companion, the equally insane Shriek, took a liking to the Doppelganger, and the deranged couple introduced their new "son" to the "pleasure" of random murder.

Doppelganger (comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Doppelganger is an evil, near-mindless duplicate of Spider-Man that was created by Magus during the battle known as the Infinity War.
Although the Doppelganger was killed during the Infinity War by the Hobgoblin, he was mystically revived by the Demogoblin.
When Magus was defeated by Adam Warlock at the conclusion of the Infinity War, all of the doppelgangers were destroyed except for the Spider-Doppelganger, thanks to Demogoblin's magic forming a psychic link between the Doppelganger and the Demogoblin.

Truly Awful Comics 08 - Judging a Book by Its Cover (Mar 2001)
Few comics readers might enjoy as complete a collection as referenced by the color images in the 150+ pages of the book; and someone with one of these volumes can visit or revisit comics from a span of decades, without the need to go fishing in back issue bins.
Where a comic seeks to hard to pay tribute to a cultural phenomenon that never really amounted too much in the first place, out of a dreadful fear of losing the presumed hipness of the medium, we see a strong cofactor of bad comics.
Superhero comics require a never-ending variety of goons, goobers, and cretins for heroes to fight, and, more or less, produce the same on demand, though generally not often enough to prevent the tiresome overuse of tarnishing arch-enemies who reappear, then meet their final end, every six issues or so.

 Doppelganger (DVD)
Doppelganger is the latest film by Japan's Kiyoshi Kurosawa, a writer/director who's made a name for himself over the last seven or eight years with horror thrillers like Cure, Charisma and Barren Illusion.
Released in Japan in 2003, Doppelganger is now being distributed in America, part of the growing interest in non-animated Japanese cinema.
Why and from where the doppelganger comes is never addressed, and the last half of the movie feels more like a farcical riff on A Simple Plan than the surrealistic nightmare suggested at the beginning.

Though Hobgoblin appeared to have killed Doppelganger, his body was secretly retrieved by the Demogoblin.
After a battle, the two were separated, and Doppelganger soon ran into Carnage and Shriek.

Recycling Bin 38 - We Have Met the Enemy (Mar 2001)
In today's comics (which we might call "postmodern" but for the fact that the definition of "postmodern" changes too often for it to retain much meaning), one often finds works of considerable intellectual weight.
However, regardless of how thoroughly a comic book may explore a theological debate (generally one owing to a set of New Age-y assumptions not common to all theologies), we ultimately must return to the necessity of the fistfight.
Nonetheless, when a semi-random grab of new and preowned comics produces three occurrences of the same theme, which itself reminds the reader of a piece from the canon of comics classics, we can confidently assign the onus of the overused cliche to it.

Girl power - The Boston Globe
If you said the word "comics" a few years ago, it summoned up images of boys hunkered over magazines illustrated with their favorite superheroes.
Many comics featured male-dominated stories with titles that ended with some form of the word "man" -- think "X-Men," "Batman," "Superman," or "Spider-Man." The work tended to be distributed in comic-book stores that some people would describe as creepy.
The Japanese comics are now so hot in the United States that ICv2.com, a trade-news website that focuses heavily on the genre, called it the fastest-growing sector of pop culture last year.

This unique navigation of the comic produces a strange feeling, and as you progress, one panel after another, it begins to have a hypnotic effect.
In Understanding Comics, McCloud assembles all of comics into a giant triangle, and breaks down the frequency of panel transitions into a set of bar charts.
But in Reinventing Comics, McCloud's vision of infinite canvas is more complex-- it is not merely a large canvas, but one that can take on any shape and attribute.

Yet, while he may not be ghostly, he certainly does haunt his other half – you see, the doppelganger is everything Michio isn't – he's brash, outspoken, not afraid to hit on chicks, and willing to do whatever needs to be done to ensure that Michio's invention gets completed.
Things are never simple though (or else the film would be really boring), so Michio has to take Yuka and his new invention on the run – all the better to stay away from the unsavory types who want to cash in on his big idea.

Also, since the issue begins with Jen in bed (talking to Editor Renée Witterstaetter no less), the whole issue could just have easily have been a dream, but that might not be the case since Tommy the intern (The Gopher) appears later to join her against Electro.
While the possibility of the Man-Elephant and the She-Hulk doppelganger being creations of Mojo exists, there is also a possibility that the Man-Elephant is a denizen of Spider-Ham’s Cartoon-verse or even Howard the Duck’s Duck-world, which also includes versions of sentient dogs and mice.

Ken's comic sometimes features what are called 'complete western novelettes', or, in the case of issue #7, 'a complete western serial'; this one, with the intriguing title 'The Seven Wonders of the West'.
This is partly due to the timeframe involved, as comics didn't really hit their stride until the end of the 30s, some years after McCoy's generation of cowboy stars had peaked.
At that point Fawcett left the comic business, but Hoppy was popular enough to be picked up by National Periodical Publications (commonly known as DC Comics) the most important comics company of the time, starting with issue #86 in early 1954 and continuing through issue #135 in 1959.

For whatever reason, the hero of the book decides that in order to accomplish their current mission (be it to help out someone or capture a crook), they need to establish an all-new identity, complete with costume, which is usually never heard from again!

Comic Book Resources - Comic Book News, Reviews and Commentary - Updated Daily!
Here’s another of Archie’s goofy line of Mighty Comics from the mid-1960s, an imprint that sought to duplicate Marvel’s then-recent, lightning-in-a-bottle success publishing comics starring hip new superheroes.
This story, which is narrated by Gerald Crandall, a fictional “inventor-criminologist and confidant of the Black Hood” (who immediately disappears after his solo splash-panel appearance), begins as a criminal masquerading as the Black Hood robs an auto factory of its payroll.
ODDBALL Factoid — Mighty Comics were careful never to refer to their characters as “superheroes” or “supervillains”; instead, they were always called “ultra heroes” and “ultra villains”, in a futile attempt to distinguish their line of comics from those they desperately struggled to imitate!

The Franklin Doppelganger's aura allowed them to slip past the security net before the Magus realized that they had left the others.
However, I should mention that in one regard, Moon Knight actually anticipated one element that later appeared in the Batman comics; Moon Knight started his use of shuriken-esque throwing crescents long before The Dark Knight Returns came out, where the first use of bat-shaped throwing weapons by Batman took place.
