In examining the life of Doris Anderson, Canadian women can only be glad that she is indeed a "rebel daughter" who has worked tirelessly for the advancement of all women.

Anderson, who is a member of the Order of Canada and was editor of Chatelaine magazine from 1958 to 1977, made this statement during a spirited lecture entitled "The F-Word in the 21st Century: Where is Feminism Heading?" at McGill's Stephen Leacock Building on October 28.
Anderson's talk turned to the environment when she said we have been reckless with life on this planet and are squandering our natural resources.

The Attorney General said that Doris Anderson, 31, of Plainfield, Union County, was charged in a four count indictment charging conspiracy, theft, and tampering with public records or information in the third degree, as well as falsifying records in the fourth degree.
The indictment charges that Doris Anderson, and other persons who were not identified in the indictment, between March 19, 1999 and May 18, 1999, conspired to steal approximately $8,429 from State Farm Indemnity Company for a automobile insurance theft claim even though the insured automobile was never really stolen.
According to State Insurance Fraud Prosecutor Edward M. Neafsey, the indictment alleges that Anderson gave the car keys to her 1996 Kia Sephia to a person who was not identified in the indictment.

Chase County native Doris V. Anderson, 88, died Dec. 20, 2003, at the Weatherly Inn at Lake Meridian in Kent, Wash. She had lived in Renton, Wash., for the past two years with her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kaye Anderson.
She is also survived by a granddaughter, Kimberly Anderson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, Michael Anderson.

IMPERIAL -- Doris Anderson, 70, died Friday (Oct. 11, 2002) at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial.
On Dec. 31, 1983, she married Phillip N. Anderson in Imperial and the couple soon moved to Marrila, N.Y. They returned to Imperial in 1984.
Survivors include her husband, Phil Anderson of Imperial; two sons, Kenny Joe Hicks of Nashville, Tenn., and Richard Hicks and wife, Linda of El Dorado, Calif.; one daughter, Cynthia and husband, Charles Cates of Globe, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Along came Doris on Sweet-P and took the lead, just in front of me. My horse picked up and went along well, as he now had company.
