 | | Trampoline, the collection of D.C.-area indie musicians and producers centering around songwriter Pat Ferrise, is essentially a pop project; Dormer's associations with other bands (Girls vs. Boys, Edsel, Manifesto, Velocity Girl, the Eggs) may lead one to expect indie-rock tendencies, but the album is focused on polished, radio-friendly, and only slightly indie-oriented pop. |
 | | The collection of talent collaborating on the record, however, means that this sort of pop receives an intelligent execution which is likely to appeal to the indie crowd, and while Ferrise's songwriting is never brilliant, he does turn out a solid and consistent series of charming pop tunes. |
 | | I Want One of Everybody, the project's second release, moves farther into rock territory, and is more mainstream and accessible than Dormer -- and since well-executed pop seems to be the project's aim, I Want One of Everybody is probably a slightly better place to start. |
