Dorsalis pedis artery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In human anatomy, the dorsalis pedis artery, also arteria dorsalis pedis (Latin), is a blood vessel of the lower limb that carries oxygenated blood to the dorsal surface of the foot.
It arises from the anterior aspect of the ankle joint and is a continuation of the anterior tibial artery.
The dorsalis pedis artery pulse can be palpated readily lateral to the extensor hallucis longus tendon on the dorsal surface of the foot, distal to the dorsal most prominence of the navicular bone which serves as a reliable landmark for palpation.

527) the ulnar artery is covered by the integument and the volar carpal ligament, and lies upon the transverse carpal ligament.
The volar carpal branch (ramus carpeus volares; anterior ulnar carpal artery) is a small vessel which crosses the front of the carpus beneath the tendons of the Flexor digitorum profundus, and anastomoses with the corresponding branch of the radial artery.
The dorsal carpal branch (ramus carpeus dorsalis; posterior ulnar carpal artery) arises immediately above the pisiform bone, and winds backward beneath the tendon of the Flexor carpi ulnaris; it passes across the dorsal surface of the carpus beneath the Extensor tendons, to anastomose with a corresponding branch of the radial artery.

Penile artery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The penile artery (also known as the common penile artery) is the artery that serves blood to the penis.
The penile artery is particularly susceptible to trauma.

dorsal artery of clitoris (in females) or dorsal artery of penis (in males): runs entire length of appropriate structure, sending branches to corpus cavernosa and terminate in branches to glans and prepuce.
It is pierced by the arteries of the erectile bodies and the dorsal arteries and nerves of the clitoris or penis.
This artery is a branch of the internal pudendal artery.

Communicating branches between the dorsal and plantar systems are visible, as are the braches to the second toe, and the transected branches to the great toe.
If the system is dorsal, the rest of the dissection proceeds with relative ease dorsally, isolating the first dorsal metatarsal artery and the second toe extensor and a major draining vein.
The metatarsophalangeal joint is disarticulated and the toe is isolated on a the arterial pedicle and a draining vein.

Drawing in lateral view outlines anterior circulation: distal anterior tibial artery (1), dorsal artery of foot (2), lateral tarsal artery (3), and deep perforating artery (5); and posterior circulation: lateral (8) and medial (9) plantar arteries; and pedal arch (10).
MR angiogram in oblique view is sometimes useful to separate and better analyze anterior tibial artery (1) and bifurcation between dorsal artery of foot (2) and lateral tarsal arteries (3).
MR angiogram obtained in frontal view superimposes both anterior (i.e., dorsal artery of foot [2]) and posterior circulation (i.e., lateral plantar artery [8]).

E. As the artery passes distally over the proximal portion of the first web space, it gives off the first dorsal metatarsal artery, and often an artery contributing to the dorsal arch, before diving between the heads of the first dorsal interosseous muscle to contribute to the plantar circulation.
The artery is often not present at all, and in our experience, in approximately 60% of cases, the transfer must rely entirely on identification and use of the plantar vessels.
The plantar digital artery to the great toe is ligated and the common digital artery is dissected proximally to increase the length of the plantar arterial pedicle (particularly if the toe is to rely on the plantar circulation).

If the arterial vascularisation of the osseous and muscular envelopes of spinal cord is rich since it comes from multiple metameric arteries, the arteries of the spinal cord which are rather delicate, are a different case in point.
This artery ensures the vascularization of the cervical spinal cord but can be replaced by a radiculo-medullary artery coming from the vertebral and satellite artery of the 6th cervical root.
The vascularization of the rachis and spinal cord is ensured by the intercostal arteries and lumbar exiting in pairs from the dorsal face of the aorta.

The result of the Allen test was misleading because of the congenital absence of the radial artery and the compression of the dorsal interosseous artery during the test.
When a routine Allen test is performed, the examiner applies pressure by centering his or her thumbs over the radial and ulnar aspects of the volar side of the patient's wrist.
To apply enough pressure with the thumbs to occlude the volar artery, the examiner must apply a large counterforce with the fingers on the dorsum of the wrist.
