Dorset Police - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dorset Police is the Home Office police force with the responsibility of policing the English county of Dorset.
The force is divided into four Divisions: Western Division covers the Western half of the county, Eastern Division covers the Eastern part of the county, and a separate division for each of Poole and Bournemouth, the two main urban conurbations of the county.
The establishment of Dorset and Bournemouth police dates from October 1, 1967 when the Dorset Constabulary merged with the Bournemouth Borough Police, covering the county borough of Bournemouth which was itself until 1974 considered part of Hampshire.

City of London Police - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
With about 1,200 employees (including about 900 police officers) and only three police stations, on Snow Hill, Wood Street, and Bishopsgate, the City of London Police is the smallest Home Office (territorial) police force in the United Kingdom both in terms of geographic area (one square mile) and numbers of police officers.
The force in its present form dates from 1839, when the Corporation of London agreed to reform its police force along modern lines in order for it to not be amalgamated with the new Metropolitan Police.
This proposal, which would see the City Police become an Operational Command Unit of the Metropolitan Police (in much the same way that the Royal Parks Constabulary did), has met with significant criticism from both the Corporation of London and several major institutions resident in the City.

Dorset was possibly the first county to identify the problem of pharmacists being reluctant to sell citric acid because of the misuse of drugs act, and to arrange an agreement with the police on their approach to the enforcement of this law.
The agreement with the police, and details of the then recent decision by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain that they would not discipline members breaking only this law, were first circulated to pharmacists in 1999, and reported in Druglink under the headline 'green light to acid sales' (!).
He told the meeting that as far as Dorset was concerned they fully supported any initiative that helps harm reduction however, no clear decision was made regarding the citric question and the issue has now been forwarded to the main ACPO committee for their opinion.
