	Dos (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Dos rarely tour extensively, owing to both Watt's touring schedule with fIREHOSE and later, as a solo artist and member of The Stooges and Banyan, and to Kira's decision to work full-time, first as a computer programmer and then, currently as a movie sound designer and foley artist.
		Dos' recorded and live repitoire consists of both original instrumentals (some of which would later have lyrics added to them to become fIREHOSE or Watt solo songs), some original vocal pieces, and cover versions sung primarily by Kira and rearranged for their two basses.
		In June 2004 Dos did their first mini-tour in several years, doing three gigs at jazz festivals in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, Canada, right before Watt had to fly to Europe for a tour as one-fourth of the reunited Stooges.

	Dos - Biography - AOL Music
		Dos is a curious yet interesting double bass guitar side project for Mike Watt (of the Minutemen and fIREHOSE) and his former wife, Kira Roessler (from Black Flag).
		Formed as a vehicle to take the bass beyond its perceived background role and into the forefront of a band, Dos (named for the Spanish "two," not some operating system) also became a therapeutic experience in the wake of Roessler's departure from Black Flag and, more tragically, Minutemen D.
		Despite such infrequent activity, it should be noted that Dos has now become the longest-running band project of Watt's career, as well as the main one in Roessler's.

		In all the spectra a sharp and narrow signal is seen at 3.42 eV marking the excitonic band gap in GaN underneath the ternary layer.
		The continuos nature of the signal and additional extrema on the high energy side strongly indicate that this signal are Franz-Keldysh oscillations at the band gap in the presence of a large electric field F [40] [23].
		The maximum of the PL in the vicinity of the band gap appears to be redshifted with respect to the absorption DOS band gap derived in the PR experiment.

		An alternative method for doing this is to change the permissions of the `hppacache' program so that it is in group `sys', and to turn on its "set group ID on exec" permission bit, but since this also requires you to be super-user, you might as well just execute the program as the super-user.
		The bands are shared by all of the supported operating systems so you only have to build the bands once, even if you want to use them from, say, both DOS and Windows 3.1.
		After building the bands you may tidy the MIT Scheme group by removing the mincer icons and recover disk space by deleting the delta files [4.1Mb] and the `runtime.com' band [2.3Mb] if you do not need it.

		lots of dos gigs at this time consisted of kira flying out to meet watt while he was on tour with firehose and open for them during a stretch of four or five dates.
		dos songs have come from jams, from lyrics given to them, are covers of great female vocalists they admire, the songs come from other bands they have played in, are written together, are written with one writing both bass lines, just about any way a song can come about, they have.
		dos gigs became fewer and fewer though with watt embarking on a solo career after releasing "ball-hog or tugboat" in 1995 for columbia that contained almost fifty people helping watt out to form a band for each song on it.

	Trio Nova
		Guitarist Pete Devine and bassist Mike Vogelmann, band mates in a bar band that had just broken up, decided to stay together as a duo to play instrumental covers of songs they liked irrespective of style or era.
		They wanted to include a drummer/percussionist to the band but as they searched for the right musician to fill that post they used a drum machine to add the rhythmic groove: a compromise at best.
		Since that time the band has refined its sound, become more exploratory musically and more empathic as a unit.

	Orquesta del Desierto Album Reviews
		What a paradox: while you think you might have a very good idea of what this band sounds like, just based on who’s in the band (like many people obviously do/did), it’s in reality one of the most eclectic, non-conformist albums the “scene” (let’s call it “desert rock,” for clarity’s sake) has ever spawned.
		A great showcase for the band at its most exotic and colourful is the bright opener “Life without Color,” an impressionistic celebration set to the soundtrack of the American Southwest (and no, I’m not talking about Herb Alpert here).
		Dos doesn’t represent a groundbreaking revolution, but it fulfils the intention Brown and Co. were thinking of when they started out making a collaborative effort that would display themselves and their peculiar surroundings in a way some people may not have expected, but all the more should be impressed by.

		We had a great turnout for the job in Buhach, and there were a lot of new faces.

		Yes, Gustine has a band, the Gustine City Band which is apparently the oldest city band in continuous existence in Merced County.
		I am not sure that "on tour" is the appropriate description, but the band plays at festas and civic events throughout central California during the spring and summer.
		We skipped the sopas in Dos Palos for a late lunch at Woolgrowers in Los Banos.
