	Randy Wood: The Dot Records Story, Part 1
		The "cover record" was an attempt by artists in one of these big three genres to record a big hit in another genre for their own format, thus "covering" the song, or bringing it to their own audience.
		The controversial era of the cover record, approximately 1955-1957, came to a crashing end when pop stations lost their audiences to a new type of format, "Top 40," which played all the types and genres of music, as long as it was selling well.
		Wood recorded her singing "I Hear You Knockin'" and it became a #2 national hit (the song was a cover of the original by Smiley Lewis).

		Signed to gray dot records in March of 1995, gray dot's first band, Third Day, released their eponymous debut in June of the same year.
		Prior to the record's explosion onto the CCM scene, rumors of something big from the band had already been circulating and several major labels had offered to buy and release the record before it had even hit the shelves.
		If you're able to find a gray dot version of the release, hang on to it, as it has not been sold to stores since December 31, 1995, and with different mixes, is destined to be a collector's piece.

		The first cd celebrates the tour in Greece, Tukey, Bulgaria, Italy and Macedonia, it was recorded the day after the end of the tour, after a month and a half touring, so the feeling of the lineup was really strong and special.
		The just-one-day session (recorded in Portland, Oregon)that brought to this cd was made to record a 2-3-songs-each split, but we were all so happy of the total result that we decided to make a full split album, that actually sounds like just one band.
		Both tracks were recorded live, the OVO one was recorded in Rome, during an electronic festival on the roof of a house, and it consists of the Violin Pain performance.
