Doug Atkins was a 6-8, 275-pound defensive end who wreaked havoc for 17 years and 205 games on National Football League quarterbacks.
Atkins felt that was a "bum-rap" that stemmed from a game against Green Bay when he was asked to play even though he had two bad ankles.
Doug calls his performance that day "not spectacular but not a disastrous either." However, on viewing the game films, someone spotted Doug taking it easy and thus the reputation was born.

Doug and I will be at the hospital all day today, so we will not be available to take any phone calls until this evening.
After Doug had a few choice words with her (I had to walk around the 5th floor to cool off) I don't think she will ever miss another child's dose of medicine again, or at least not Conner's IF we ever let her take care of him again.
Doug and I are better people today for this and as much as I wish we didn't have to endure this pain, I am very appreciative that this has taught us that there is more to life than our careers and materialist things.
