Back on topic, Doug Williams has no gimmicks my friend, he needs none other than his sheer greatness.
Williams vs Daniels is beautiful in that Williams targets a body part, it affects Daniels' offence and is very important in the build to the finish.
Doug Williams is the man! The more Doug ROH has the better.

Doug Williams came a close runner up to Rob Brookside in 2002, but in 2003 "The Anarchist" really took off and became globally recognised throughout the world - flying the flag for British wrestling in the process.
On April 26th 2003, Williams finally got to face Samoa Joe for the ROH Championship in West Miffin, PA. Though he was defeated, Joe knew that he he had come close to loosing the title, this was emphasised by how the ROH fans showed their respect for Williams after the match.
Williams also took the time to make an appearence at the annual British Wrestlers Reunion on August 10th where he was presented with a special award.

I was anticipating the wrestlers emerging from behind a curtain, a la Ring of Honour (which I picked up a tape of whilst I was there and I have to say it’s a lot more hit and miss than I thought it would be), but we had a set and big screen.
Originally the fourth wrestler was to have been the Duke’s butler Simmons, who seems to be a bit of a cult hero amongst the FWA regulars, however FWA officials deemed that his appearance would be unfair and so announced that Simmons had been replaced by JX.
Even then Doug and Jerry still didn’t get to the finish they were obviously working towards and the bell rang with both looking like half arsed clowns in the middle of the ring.

I'm really pleased that Doug Williams has won the FWA title back, as i don't think it has worked out well with Daniels having it.

For the past few weeks, 1 Pro Wrestling (1PW) out of Doncaster, England had been promoting the "mystery wrestler" that Bret was bringing over to face Jeff Jarrett on their "No Turning Back" weekend on January 6 and 7.
Smith and Williams put on a nice scientific wrestling match, which was a pleasant change in a card that was peppered with aerial and hardcore action.
Williams kept trying to go for his finisher -— the Chaos Theory (two German suplexes rolled through), but in the end he was unable to hit it, as Harry finally managed to pull off the running powerslam, to a huge pop from the Doncaster crowd, before planting Williams with a sit-out powerbomb for the win.

This may make me sound big-headed but I never really had any passion for Judo, I just sort of dawdled along doing it, used it as a tool to hopefully springboard me into Wrestling and I only entered competitions because my club would pressure me. I just happened to be naturally good at it.
Wrestlers attitudes are the main difference I have noticed between the 2 countries.
In the USA where there is a major company to shoot for, the attitude of Wrestlers is much more career orientated concentrating much more on their look and ‘gimmick’ as well as on their wrestling skills.

Just awesomeness, Doug Williams impresses me everytime I watch him and Brian Danielson is one of those guys I know is gonna be a mainstay for years to come in New Japan (I'd say America too but with only one major company and their emphasis on look over style it isn't gonna happen sadly).
Doug seems to be able to work any style, even clasic World of Sport and would surely be a big player in TNA if given the chance.
You may well be right about Williams in the WWE right now but if he had better exposure in the US and some of those kick-arse WWE promo films, hell even just some of those kick-arse promo films I think he could do very well.
