The social events-Mrs Sloane,Mrs Douglas and the Misses Gill in the kitchen.
The Scout Hall has been my second home and 1st Douglas members were my extended family and later many became life long friends.Once you joined 1st Douglas you could be there for life.
Scouting in the war years was held in the Long Hut as the Rover Den and the Scout Hall was teken over by the Government and handed back after the war.

As I mentioned when after I read the first book, C.C Benison is actually Douglas Whiteway.
