April 10, 2000 - News - Reviving McKinley: Orange proposes high-tech school, associate degrees Building on the mayor’s proposal to create a high-tech high school, Ward 5 Councilman Vincent Orange has proposed renovating and reopening McKinley Technical Senior High School in Northeast Washington and expanding its programs to include the awarding of associate degrees from the University of the District of Columbia. The Douglass School would be housed at McKinley but operated by UDC and would grant associate degrees in technology.
