  DOVE HOLES
There are approximately 6 working farms within the village of Dove Holes and many more within the wider boundary of the parish that make an important contribution towards the economy and vibrancy of the village, as do the quarries which contributed to the development of the village.
This was presented to the people of Dove Holes at an Open Meeting at which they were given the opportunity to comment on the Village Plan and also to put their names against any projects they were interested in becoming involved with.
Dove Holes is surrounded by open countryside and, whilst it has a major road running through the middle of the village, the countryside and environment are an important and much appreciated aspect of the village.

Dove Holes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dove Holes lies in the Peak District of Derbyshire at Grid reference SK074781.
Evidence of human occupation at Dove Holes can be traced back to the Neolithic Period (late Stone Age) because of the existence of a henge, known locally as the Bull Ring, and an adjoining tumulus.
Undoubtedly, the opening of the Peak Forest Tramway and the consequent expansion of commercial limestone quarries contributed greatly to the expansion of the village.

 The Dove
The dove was also considered sacred to Adonis and Bacchus as the "First Begotten of Love." In later history, Giovana de Medici adopted two caged turtle-doves as her symbol to represent conjugal fidelity.
The dove was frequently used in the "Song of Songs," largely to convey terms of endearment: in their behavior, the doves paired for a long time.
In Christian lore and tradition (4), the dove is usually the symbol of the Holy Spirit or "heavenly messenger," particularly found in portrayals of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary.

Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club opened in 1998 to rave reviews and accolades as Arizona's Best New Public Golf Course, and it continues to grow even more inviting as the challenging and graceful layout by Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club is essentially a desert style golf course with hints of tradition, such as ample fairways and subtly contoured greens with openings in front, featuring a low, rolling mix of holes of varying difficulty.
According to Jones, the key was to not "overcook" the gentle nature of this golf course, which makes Dove Valley a kinder, gentler creation from a designer usually known for his more heroic strategies.
