Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim: Rabbinical Seminary of America - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The yeshiva was established in 1933 by Rabbi Dovid Leibowitz a disciple of Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel ("The Alter of Slabodka").
Rabbi Dovid Leibowitz founded the Chofetz Chaim yeshiva in the footsteps of his rebbe, the Alter of Slabodka, and Rabbi Yisroel Salanter, the founder of the Mussar movement.
Rabbi Henoch Leibowitz, the current Rosh Yeshiva, continually reminds his students that as important as it is to become a lamden ("analytical scholar") and a great pedagogue, it is even more important to become a mentch ("a good human being").

 Welcome to Kehillas Torah Online
HaRav Alter Chanoch Henoch Leibowitz shlit"a was born in Eastern Europe in 1916.
In 1933, his father HaRav Dovid Leibowitz ztz"l established Yeshivas Rabbenu Yisroel Meir HaCohen (Rabbinical Seminary of America) in New York City, in memory of his great uncle, the sainted Chofetz Chaim ztz"l.
Tragically, Reb Dovid died in 1941 at a young age, leaving his only son to take over the yeshiva at the tender age of 26.

 Dei'ah veDibur - Information & Insight - IN-DEPTH FEATURES
When Reb Dovid took up the post as rosh yeshiva of Mesivta Torah Vodaas in 1926 with the blessing of his great uncle the Chofetz Chaim, he introduced his talmidim to the beauty of Torah and mussar, as he had imbibed it in Slobodka -- and as he had come to embody it.
Reb Dovid called for conviction in the strict observance of halochoh even in those areas where lapses were common among observant people, even at the risk of being abused for such observance.
Reb Dovid himself would have agreed that his ideas could be misused in the hands of someone who picked and chose from among them, without harnessing himself to the entire approach: long-term Torah learning, long-term mussar study and long-term tutelage under a rebbe who himself possessed a clear tradition in these realms.

But Tales of Nehama goes further, to explore Leibowitz's teaching methods, in which actualization and entertaining played a major role.

Rabbi Alter Henach Leibowitz (2) explains that the give and take of conversation is not merely an opportunity to confirm previously determined rationales.
Rather, the reduction of thoughts and emotions to clear, concise expressions and the verbalization of one's reasoning and justification compels one to delve deeper into the issue until he discovers the core truth.
When one has a friend with whom he can share and discuss his thoughts, the friend's attention to detail will oblige the speaker to clarify the issues and arrive at the truth.

There are those who understand his words to mean, "The world is full of opportunities in which to possess and acquire Hashem." Instead of finding fault with the ubiquitous blunders of life, one should instead use every opportunity to grow and become wiser from all that we see and experience.

 Weekly Torah Portion -- Sukkot
This idea was fabricated by the heretics-- from the Apostle Paul to Ben Gurion-- who meant to cast off the yoke of Torah by substituting for it a faith in an abstract 'vocation'.
In both the high holiday prayers and Alenu, Leibowitz notes, it is God who will bring all nations back to Him in unity, not Israel.
Leibowitz tries to minimize this chapter's great impact by pointing out how the surrounding chapters condemn Israel's straying from God and Torah, as today; but he ignores both many Biblical verses and many traditional teachings that Israel WILL eventually repent, return to God, and THEN impact upon the entire world.

If that's the case, suggests Nechama Leibowitz (famed biblical teacher, 1905-1997) then perhaps Sarai's bitterness is natural and her reactions understandable.
The Radak (R' Dovid Kimchi, Provence, 1160-1235, leading bible commentator) also condones Sarai's behavior.
The Radak explains that when Abram says in Genesis 16:16, "Hee'nay shif'chah'taych b'yah'daych," behold your maidservant is in your hand, he is in effect telling Sarai that he, Abram, has no right to treat Hagar unkindly.
