	Henderson Creek Jetties
		The new jetties were formally opened as part of the Henderson Creek celebrations held over the weekend of 19/20 November 2005.
		This jetty, in Tui Glen Reserve, is in the upper reaches of Henderson Creek on the Oratia Stream, just below Falls Park and across the stream from Cranwell Park and the Aquatic Centre.
		The jetty is located on the stream at the north end of the park, near the public toilets.

		Looking down the feeling was somewhat akin to bungee jumping, except in reality the drop was a whole lot shorter.
		Good visibility and quite a few fish down the end but, other than the occasional beer bottle not much towards the middle of the jetty (where everybody was fishing).
		The divers climbed down the ramp, got in the water, descended to the bottom and within 2 minutes were at the top again (gee, I wonder if they had a safety stop!).

		The North Jetty was built in 1898 of massive blocks of Central Texas Granite and extends about six miles out into the Gulf of Mexico.
		The shore part of the jetty is crowded with locals fishing, crabbing, or prying oysters out of the mud.
		They said they had made it to the cut in the jetty and described it as, "a hell of a hike out there." The tidal surge was pouring through the cut and a lot of big fish could be seen pulled along.
